After a period of hiatus, we are pleased to announce of our partnership with Association Amour et Espoir, a NGO based in the South west coast of Mauritius.

It is run by a group of volunteers, helping primarily the children of Coteau Raffin. Most of the children come from modest families, more specifically where parents are either on low income or welfare support.

The association is spearheaded by Mrs Jaymala Yagambrum and is assisted by Mr Bruneau and Richard Petite. It was created in September 2007 and its objectives were to support underprivileged children in the region.

We have agreed initially to support them by setting up a music school. Lessons will be provided by qualified tutors on a weekly basis.

Our objective is to keep the children off the street and the lessons will help develop their social skills and more importantly develop their creative thinking. We have named this as Project Kestrel.

Music lessons have started since Sunday 14 June under the supervision of Mr Rama Yagambrum. The children are currently being taught the recorder as a start.

Lessons will be 3 hours per week and we hope to teach around 20 children per session. Light refreshments are provided to the children at the end of each session.

We hope by the end of the year the children will be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of the skills learned.
